IAG publishes 74 kg for its AKE reference; skin material is not stated. AVULD drawing N-LD3-0000, dated 25 June 2025, lists 41554.14 g = 41.55414 kg. This is calculated assembly mass, not measured production tare. Confirm included doors, fittings and corner accessories before using it for a final sales comparison.

Reference weight depends on manufacturer, materials and configuration. Calculated or estimated weights are identified above. Maximum gross weight includes the container and cargo.

AVULD LD3 is part of Avimetal’s proposed collapsible graphene carbon fiber ULD range, designed to reduce empty-container weight and storage space. Contact Avimetal for development, manufacturing and partnership inquiries.

Supplied chart: Contoured half-width container; IATA code AKE; classification LD3; rate class Type 8. Chart internal volume 4.3 m³ (152 ft³ as printed); maximum gross 1588 kg (3500 lb as printed). Chart envelope labels 79 × 60.4 × 64 in. Imperial and metric figures are rounded and may differ.

Aircraft applications updated 25 October 2026: Modern conventional AKE references: Boeing 787-8, 787-9, 787-10; Airbus A330-800 and A330-900 (A330neo), A350-900, A350-1000. Additional family references: Boeing 777 and 747; Airbus A330-200/-300 and A380-800. Legacy chart: A300, A310, A340, DC-10, MD-11, L1011. Future/planning review: Boeing 777-9/777X, 777-8/777-8F; Airbus A350F and A350-1000ULR.

Aircraft scope: A320neo/A321neo (including LR/XLR variants) use reduced-height LD3-45W/AKH configurations where a container loading system is installed; the full-height 64 in ULDs in this catalog are not interchangeable with LD3-45. Boeing 737 MAX and Airbus A220 are not added as standard lower-hold applications for this catalog.

New-generation planning note (reviewed 2026-10-25): 777X/777-9, 777-8/777-8F, A350F and A350-1000ULR are separate prospective review applications, not verified compatibility or an assertion of airline service. Boeing reports a 2027 first-delivery target for 777-9. Exact cargo layouts, ULR restrictions and operator approvals must be checked against the applicable current manual.
